Kai Opaka is my hold back doe from Twinkie’s first litter. I haven’t evaluated her too strongly yet, as she’s still in kind of an awkward growing phase at the moment, but she looks like she will be similar to Twinkie. However, I do worry she will have Buddy’s narrow hind end. Either way, I am going to grow her out and see how she looks as she matures!
She was named after a character from Star Trek Deep Space Nine. This character was a very kind one who was the leader of one of the alien races’ religion. She has a counterpart in the show who is a villain named Kai Winn. Originally I was going to hold back Kai Opaka’s sister as well, and she was pretty spicy in personality, so I thought the names fit for the two of them well! Unfortunately, I had to mercy cull Kai Winn but I decided the name had stuck for this rabbit.
I look forward to seeing how this sweet girl develops as she grows!
