I purchased Ray from SF’s Rabbitry, who I had previously gotten Vanessa from! She has been a great help in getting started with the Mini Rex breed. Ray was one of her main herd bucks for quite a while, and he’s also eligible to be registered as a Grand Champion with the ARBA. I’ll definitely be doing that the next time we go to a rabbit show!
While Ray has the red-eyed white (also called REW) appearance, I’ve been told he is genetically a broken black. I’ll be making a post on what I’ve learned about rabbit genetics in the future, but it’s certainly very interesting the traits that REW rabbits can be hiding!
Ray is retired from his show career, but I look forward to what his offspring will bring to the Mini Rex program!
